Class Title: New England Blue
Designed By: Patricia Goaley

Teacher: Patricia Goaley

New England Blue is a crewel design based on traditional New England designs from the 18th century to the 19th century.  Influenced by products imported from China and Europe, American women transformed these patterns into textiles.  A fun piece, we will learn the traditional stitches as we explore examples of historical textiles through slides and discussion.  Stitches include Bokhara, stem, outline, Deerfield herringbone, knots, satin, fly, trellis, and fishbone.
